From Palestine to Pakistan

Through our creative writing project Platform for Palestinian Arts we worked with a group of women in Rossendale at The Apna Gallery who work within the South Asian community. When discussing Palestinian plays and poetry with the women they made connections of British colonialism to the 1948 Nakba and 1947 partition of India.

This led onto an arts project called, From Palestine to Pakistan, connecting our stories of forced migration. We explored writing, poetry and film, from Palestine, India and Pakistan which inspired their own writing. The writing was shared to people in the local community.
